Accessory to a Change: Thank You!

On April 6, 2017, more than 200 hundred women came together in Saskatoon at the Sheraton Cavalier in order to raise critical funds for BPW’s bursary program. We are very pleased to announce that the second annual Accessory to a Change event generated more than $12,000 in support of mature and Aboriginal women in our community who wish to pursue post-secondary education opportunities.

These bursaries have a significant impact in the lives of the women who receive them by helping to create brighter opportunities for the recipients and their families. At this time, we want to extend our most sincere gratitude to the many businesses, organizations, and individuals who contributed to the success of this important event.

For the second year in a row, Hillberg & Berk very generously supported Accessory to a Change as our special Sparkle Sponsor. As a company that is fiercely committed to women’s empowerment, we couldn’t be more grateful for their vital partnership and ongoing support.

Over the past year, the following individuals have dedicated countless hours and endless talent to ensure the success of Accessory to a Change. Thank you to each and every one of these women for their unique and very important contributions.

Jill Salamon: Jill’s astute attention to detail and commitment to due diligence are unparalleled. She is at once the welcome voice of reason and a champion of excellence, consistently calling us all to reach a little higher time and again.

Joanne Bourgault: Joanne’s uncanny ability to connect immediately, deeply, and earnestly with people clearly contributes to her newly minted status as BPW’s social media maven. Her seamless integration into the life of BPW, along with her acumen for communicating the message and mission so beautifully, has been wonderful to watch. Joanne’s promotional efforts for ATAC this year have been absolutely invaluable!

Julie Valette: Julie’s passion for people and fierce desire to be of service is without question. Her dynamic presence and endless encouragement were motivating forces every step of the way. Due to illness, Julie was unable to join us for the main event, but her spirit and contributions were most definitely felt throughout the evening.

Kristine Flynn: Kristine’s creativity, commitment, and tenacity are unyielding. She consistently leads by elegant example and unfailingly goes above and beyond time and again. Kristine’s endless support and helpful consideration extends far beyond the marketing committee, ensuring that BPW’s impact is felt fully and widely.

Lana Wickstrom: Lana’s fearless commitment to authenticity and inexhaustible capacity for celebration make her a force of light and feminine leadership. Her unapologetic stance for the success of all women is emboldening, while her addictively entertaining antics never cease to keep us happily dancing on our toes. Thank you for so beautifully rocking your emcee role this year!

Linda Yip: Linda’s consummate thoughtfulness, unwavering enthusiasm, and meticulous attention to detail are both genuinely infectious and wildly appreciated. Outside of her substantial contributions to the bursary program, Linda always so graciously lends her time and expertise whenever and wherever it is needed. Thank you for all that you do Linda!

Lydia Moss: Lydia is the perfect combination of class, sass, grace, and grit. Her bright spirit, wicked work ethic, and warm hilarity endear her to everyone she encounters. Lydia’s momentous efforts over the years have very literally set the stage for BPW’s fundraising initiatives to grow and flourish. Accessory to a Change would very simply not exist were it not for Lydia!

Nicole Robertson: Nicole’s can-do attitude, willingness to learn something new, and unwavering enthusiasm have given BPW a fresh face. Since joining the BPW website team while still a student, she has unhesitatingly walked out of her comfort zone to keep our website current and ticket sales running for all BPW events.

Rami Flamand: Rami is not only a silent auction superstar, she is a volunteer extraordinaire! Her conscientiousness is unshakeable, while her reassuring energy infused the entire committee with confidence and ease every step of the way. Thank you Rami!

Stacey Love: Stacey’s relentless dedication, mighty heart, and quiet brilliance are unquestionably among BPW’s most vital assets. Aside from her integral leadership in fundraising, her ongoing contributions across the organization (from tech and marketing to governance and general operations) have been vast and truly invaluable. Stacey’s deep devotion to BPW, along with every single member, is infinitely inspiring and evident in all she does.
